Kandy

Clifford has been transfered to Kandy. It is inland, about in the center of Sri Lanka. It has a high Buddhist population. He said there are Monks walking around everywhere. He likes the area because it is a lot cooler. It is the first time he has not had to use the AC since he arrived in the Singapore Mission. He is still learning Sinhala. He has learned the first discussion in Sinhala and is working on the 2nd discussion. This is a photo taken at the Elephant Refuge. They bathe the elephants once a year and they invite the public (for a price!) to come and watch. They charge the local residents $1.38 to watch, but white people(outsiders) get charge $9.20. Boy, that would NEVER fly in the Good Old US of A! They let the visitors feed the elephants also.
This is a photo of a "local" bug that was in his apartment. Cliff says they 'like'm big' over there! SICK. When Noah saw this picture he jumped back, it was quite funny...........can't say I blame him on that.........yuck!!!!!!!!
