We HAD to redo our kitchen counter tops! Here are the before pictures. They were a little chipped/scratched up when we bought the house, and they have gone down hill since! If you click on the pictures above and below you can see how bad the countertop was next to the stove. We had to cut the old top to fit the stove.
We had to move this little countertop over to make more room for the stove. It was really cramped into the space.
Here is an inbetween shot. I was white water rafting with the youth from the stake(rough life!) while don and a friend redid the counters. I'm glad I was gone, what a mess!!!
We looked at new laminate tops, but they were $1500!!!! So we went down the tile isle at home Depot, found some beautiful while tile with little specks of blue on CLEARANCE!! Then we found some Blue PORCELAIN tiles on clearance, again. It cost us about $300 dollars to do the counter tops, including the wood trim! And they look soooooo good!
Don hadn't finished wiping off the countertops so there is still some extra white dust from the grout on the tile, but I couldn't wait to take a picture!) I even got a new sink..that was NOT included in the $300:{{ but still not a bad deal. The $1500 for new laminates didn't include the new sink either!

Wow.. that looks like it would be hard! It looks great... where do you get the wood trim? Was it made for counters?
